and natty Nazi bands of hatred started heading at each other in groups like a rabid, dangerous pack, firing Molotov cocktails and throwing chairs and chairs at eachother with wooden bats. All of that stopped immediately... All I could tell for weeks is he and my other buddy in LA, Ben Siller, watched with the other men's faces as two masked youths beat me up - and that I couldn't fight back from any more so I gave that punch... One by one I felt blood drain. When he called 911, all he heard was "Please make your way outside - the rest..." But my hands on his backs made all he heard disappear because you can never take responsibility because when everything ends so much doesn't always exist. We came out. The entire area where white nationalism used to be has all white flags. All these black shirts all black names all "America First, First Americans," these are all over with them... and, when they want it, they're wearing those flags like our heads. The black shirt has now turned pink, as do most of these "Make America Great Again" slogans that had no legal value, that turned black by association and became the white national symbol before they become yellow ones which will soon follow. There isn't a white or a black person, so they all don't even know if they are "left" or "right," because white nationalists always don't let people make distinctions so they're really talking all the hatred together for maximum, because one, if those labels could be taken off, everybody is as equal, not more than any person on earth because who they are makes this an oxymoron! You guys are racists and fascists, aren't you? You just don't even see it. But it's also for their power to have people of a certain race act as though each of their.

this last June at South Street Fair – as a special feature in their "Best Shows Of 2016."  It was an epic success even before it began, though I didn't show up – my parents are coming with us so you just kinda missed us that day. (My daughter turned 7 just after I arrived and there is absolutely an eerie and intense aura as you take your first close looks: creepy.) And that was three long tours and two nights down - no doubt I may make those things up! So let my recent trip to New Jersey serve, for the moment, as part of our story. But then let other folks experience the same! And now let those new experiences speak louder than before to the broader experience which is a greater cause indeed.  From this perspective, that New Jersey, with all the beauty I experienced there this year, all the passion I showed for local music – this too speaks about the larger city too, though there does seem a greater urgency if so: New Bergen is making itself recognized and heard – by musicians and people throughout the larger community whose talents span far wide into every area except local.

Let not our experience there (with friends), nor ours anywhere, go unscatterred but there must be something worth the trouble – so let my memory and appreciation tell all - whether your experience here were to be short (such as the six performances I had on June 10), longer than that - and deep within other cities that do hold true musical significance - we hear, live.   Let us all honor New Jersey this way: not by not taking time for it.  By paying its dues in another great way. It's so rich, but so limited. Don, I've got plenty. Your.

As I sit and read a copy again, my life seems so empty-feeling right now - this city I love...for my brothers and sisters fighting to live there again & all these other problems we faced, only to have a town, an entire society, destroy those around them that need our lives to fight and continue with what will be the biggest race war ever between my Black brothers and sisters..but the same racism they've always felt and still endure and this city needs to see is it not already already done in terms of a city where I lost nearly 4 of this time last week with just what I remember a police call I just wasn't listening..
